On 22 September, the FTA Forum on Trade Policy and Customs, specifically designed for French-speaking members, will take place in Lyon. At the Forum, FTA’s in-house experts, representatives from the import and distribution sector, officials from the World Trade Organization (WTO) and the French government will exchange views on the major developments affecting members in trade, customs and corporate social responsibility.
The event is a great occasion for members to get a strategic view of international trade challenges and raise questions to experts, as well as discuss current developments with peers.

It will start with a complete mapping of the recent regulations that can affect the French import and distribution sector:
- ‘Duty of Care for Parent and Subcontracting Companies’ and ‘Anti-corruption Sapin 2’
- ‘Right to error’
This will be followed by a presentation on BREXIT and its impacts on customs, by Mr Brice Hummel Head of the Regional Customs and Excise Economic Action Centre in Lyon.
The afternoon session is dedicated to the mapping of international trade issues including SAFE Framework of Standards to Secure and Facilitate Global Trade, REX, Trade Facilitation Agreements, with a presentation by Mr Alejandro Gamboa-Alder, Senior Trade Specialist at the WTO.
